Whereas a cat as ‘the
subject’ might be perceived as a set from geometric shapes – circles, I drew a
whole body from circles, turning the cat’s face or the body by suggestive
movement.

To get the texture of the cat’s fur,
I applied different lines, but here might be problem with understanding alight
and tones as if the model is not surrounded in the natural environment, it is
hard to decide how the light and shades change the subject to get it right.

Experimenting with a simply graphite pencils and a brow felt pen lines, I looked how different materials affect the visual outcome of the cat and drew it.

The colour drawings ‘allow’ me to think about making, for instance’ lino
cut illustration, what I am going to do so far still making observational
drawings.
