In order to create the appropriate illustrations in Nonsense
genre, here are my few sketches, which temporarily changed Danil Kharms poetry theme. I made the opposite visual search on the
basis of the savannah topic moving from slavic to German cultural space, which
represents the nonsense poem ‘Lion’ written by the actor, comedian, poet and
singer Spike Milligan:
‘’If you are attacked by a Lion
Find fresh underpants to try on
Lay on the ground quite still
Pretend you are very ill
Keep like that day after day
Perhaps the lion will go away.’’
Since
I am faced with an exotic 'participant' lion and the poet 'advises’ how to
behave in order to avoid life-threatening problems, logical aspect is to make
sketches of jungle theme first going on a complex (specific flora and fauna)
elements and later moving to the simple details - the lion's interaction with man.
There I am adding my primary sketches of
trees, plants and animals, capturing their significant identity marks.
